He professes personal experience of more than 600 VATS lobectomies, segmentectomies and thymectomies. In total he have performed more than 1400 VATS lobectomies and segmentectomies in Copenhagen, which is the largest series in Europe. In accordance with this development, he has published relevant papers in the field.

Since 2008 he have run clinical immersions with participation from many clinics in Europe, and he has trained many surgeons in the VATS technique his team use: “The Standardized Anterior Approach”. He has given lectures and talks in numerous courses in VATS lobectomies, done live surgery and presented several papers at ESTS conferences. 

He is also the Regent for ESTS, member of surgical advisory board for lung cancer screening IASLC, reviewer for European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, member of MITIG-ESTS and member of the local organizing committee for ESTS in Copenhagen 2014.
